Tech asked:
how could i control an underwater rov with thrusters, lights, camera and power, and put it into the one controller and use an umbilical cord (really long cord) to connect to the rov itself.
thanks

So I’ve had this burning desire to figure this out. If you find yourself in a vehicle completely submerged underwater, what is the correct way to get out without injuring yourself? And is there a difference from doing it in a car or a truck? How would the pressure of the water effect this?
Hmm. asked:
It is not a submarine. It is some circle thing, kinda like a pod, and a person sits in the middle of the circle thing/pod, and you can like go anywhere. What is this called?
these?

The Mariana trench is located in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of about 11500 m below the surface of the water. The density of seawater is 1025 kg/m^3.
If an underwater vehicle were to explore such a depth, what force would the water exert on the vehicle’s observation window (radius = 0.15 m)?

I have this project going on where there is this system that works between an UAV and Underwater Vehicle. I have currently the UAV and Underwater Vehicle working but the system works in a way that data had to be transmitted between the 2 vehicles.
System Details:
UAV will scout a specific area for given object with a camera below it that can send pictures back to a Main Control Station(MCS). Through MCS, we are able to hover over the area where the given object. The problems come here. We wish to fix in a GPS system on the UAV so as to get the coordinates of the given object. With the coordinates, we will send it to the Underwater Vehicle so as to control it semi-autonomously to the given coordinates.
Questions:
Is a GPS system advisable? Or is there shorter range technology to get a positioning data?
What type of technology can we use to enable the UAV to directly send the coordinates data to the Underwater vehicle? Do we use a transmitter and receiver and use programming codes to enable the underwater to move autonomously?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Can we use a cabled receiver that has a float above water to receive the coordinates data? Are we able to use Wifi facility?

Also, does anyone know a little about the history of the DSV Alvin.

I was wondering if one can use an infrared remote control unit
to control an underwater vehicle. i.e can infrared light travel underwater and if so how deep underwater. Also is infrared affected by sun light and will the infrared signal be reflected from the water surface, and if so will it reach the reciever at the underwater vehicle ?

I am developing an AUV which is suppose to dive more than 100ft . I do not know what methods can be used to communicate with vessel.
I need some references . plz help. thanks in advance.

interesting question, but i can’t understand
the mariana trench is located in the floor of the Pacific Ocean at a depth of about 11 000 m below the surface of the water. The density of seawater is 1025 kg/m^3.
if an underwater vehicle were to explore such a depth, what force would the water exert on the vehicles observation window (radius=.10m)?
For comparison, determine the weight of a jetliner whose mass is 1.2×10^5 kg

I am (attempting) building a ROV for my camera, I want it so I can explore the sea floor (obviously not the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean but just around the beach). I am new to remote controlled things and have completely no idea what I need to do but I do know what I want, what I need and all that in terms of building the thing and allowing it to sink and surface and all that, it is just the electronics.
Can anyone suggest some motors, remote controlled (obviously in legal frequency without the need for a licence or whatever) stuff or any other thing that I might need.
Thank you
Bad Boy
I am planning on having a line from the ROV to the surface, is there anyway I can operate it without the need for multiple frequency remote controls?
